And finally Mitchell Joachim’s Softcar concept.
I really like this idea for it’s radical shift in transportation design and ideology. Make soft pliable cars (which can be made of Soy no less!), that run slower than what contemporary cars do, but adds an element of safety to passengers that no other car design I know of has.
Joachim’s criticism of current transportation design is a valid one I think. As our culture accelerates and we can communicate in a myriad of instantaneous methods, so too do people become obessed with physical speed when travelling. If we stepped back from the super fast whiz bang gas guzzlers and re-examined our priorities in ground transportation, well, here’s a method for saving the environment, as well as eliminating the risk of people dying in horrible car crashes.
